On March 10, 2011, I recieved an e-maill from IAAP, stating singles were now allowed to adopt. Singles could qualify for what is known as "Special Focus Children". I immediately went to the website to view the children. I knew the child I wanted to adopt would be an older boy between the ages of 8-10. As I scrolled down, viewing the ages of the children, I came upon a little boy named Ma Ming, who was 10. I thought to myself, that would be funny, I could have a Ming for a son and Ping is my daughter.
I opened the file and I knew this was my son. I requested information from IAAP, immediately.
Upon reviewing his medical information, the blood work information didn't seem promising. I requested updated blood work. It took a couple of days, however, the updated blood work proved all was fine and within normal limits.
Meet my son Ma Ming.
